OPPA and OSMA submit joint comments on proposed rules by the medical board on certified mental health assistants. While the vast majority of the proposed rules are direct translations from statute, there are two areas where additional clarification would benefit supervising physicians and strengthen implementation of the new license type:
1) Emphasis on supervising physician's mental health experience and practice; and
2) The quality assurance requirements.
